Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 20, 2026
Our commitment to your privacy
Textorium is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your content is yours, and we have no interest in collecting, analyzing, or monetizing your data.
The Textorium app
The Textorium app collects zero data.
- No analytics or usage tracking in the app
- No crash reports (unless you explicitly send them via email)
- No personal information
- No content from your Markdown files
- No email addresses or identifiers
This website
We may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics on textorium.app to understand website traffic and marketing performance. Where supported, analytics data is collected in an anonymized or aggregated form.
This data is used solely to improve the website and understand how people discover Textorium. It is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
What stays on your Mac
Textorium runs entirely on your Mac. Everything happens locally:
- Your content: All Markdown files remain in your folders. We never upload, sync, or transmit your content.
- Your preferences: Settings are stored using standard macOS UserDefaults, which stay on your device.
- Site bookmarks: Security-scoped bookmarks for folder access are stored locally in macOS's app container.
Network access
Textorium does not make any network connections for analytics, telemetry, or user tracking.
The app includes sandbox entitlements for network access only to support potential future features like:
- Git operations (if you use Git URLs requiring network access)
- Image loading from remote URLs in your Markdown content
All network access is initiated by you (the user) and relates directly to your content workflows.
Third-party services
None. Textorium does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
macOS sandbox
Textorium runs in the macOS App Sandbox, which restricts what the app can access:
- File access is limited to folders you explicitly grant permission to
- Network access is controlled and limited
- The app cannot access your other files, applications, or system data
This is enforced by macOS, not just by our promise.
Children's privacy
Textorium does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data at all, this is inherently compliant with COPPA.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change our data collection practices (which we have no plans to do), we will update this policy and the "Last updated" date above. We will never start collecting data without making that explicitly clear.

Summary
Textorium collects zero data. Your content stays on your Mac. We have no analytics, no tracking, and no cloud services. This is a privacy-first app, by design.
